Golden Play *

Taken on Clearwater lake near The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. It was a beautiful August evening that also had a spectacular clouded sunset.

I wouldn't crop the top out. I think it's perfect the way it is. I think it grounds the image, and if the top were missing it may be too confusing. It's an excellent silhouette! I love it! :-)

Kevin, I, too, would crop out the dark band at the top and that would save you having to level it. I don't mind the out of focus foreground. It's a lovely shot. ~Sharon

Kevin - Really nice photo here with all the golden colors. * to make this a better photo, I would probably level up (tilt more to the upper right) the horizon and also crop much of the foreground (maybe halfway up) to take away the blur as I find it distracting. Additionally, what is beyond the horizon - a blown out sun? It just seem to me that something should be there to reflect the light on the water, although I actually like this presentation with the dark silhouettes. I keep wondering what if the top of the photo was cropped about half way down from the horizon if this would be a stronger image yet. Very striking image. jano
