Candy Kitchen *

Brussels

As seen in the Godiva candy store in Brussels near the Grand Place. A candy kitchen is a wonder to behold.
This is the final crop that I believe captures all the elements of the story.

Good work, Jim! I do like this and I am glad you didn't lose that nice rolled up sleeve as you would have with a tighter crop. ~Sharon

So that's why Yvonne is bagging all me shots, she's in sweet withdrawal:-)

Scrumptious! There almost appears to be a little heart highlight/shadow right in front of the chef's face? jano

I like the cropped verison, but as I am giving up sweets (three weeks now!) this is a very painful shot....Yvonne

Look at that guy, you know he wants one and from the looks of it he already had one, tsk tsk ;) Very nice capture Jim.

Thanks to all for the comments. I've played with multiple crops to capture the various aspects that were talked about. I like maintaining some of the background to keep the scene in perspective. But I also removed a couple of the distractions. At the same time, I cropped off the bottom "distracting color". I do like this version the best.

I agree wholeheartedly with Nugar and prefer this to the crop. This has real life to it while the other could almost be staged. I really like this one.

Hi Jim,

I think I'll go with the first image. It shows a real person doing a real job at a real place. The cropped one takes out that feel. This one also has more of a 3 D feeling.

I like it with some background, but I'd crop it off around the vertical line back there. Also, crop some off the bottom. It's a beautiful natural-looking shot with good light.

See the next shot.

Good question. I can certainly see the bottom crop, as I have played there already. To come in from the right means a crop right at the neck. I'll try it.

Nice light and a good capture. How would it look if cropped up from the bottom and in from the right to get rid of the distracting background elements and just leave variations on white, pink and red? Oops! sorry I just noticed that you didn't have an asterisk on the title. I hope you don't mind the comment anyway. ~Sharon
