Nice and clean (pun intended:-). B/W works here with the light. \Oved

Abstract - Yes, I totally agree and noted that - it was the one thing I disliked about the new photo. Goes to show that sometimes you just can't recreate. I'll go back to the old. Thanks! jano

i agree, new one has more details in bubbles.
although i prefer the relaxed hand position in the original compared to stiff one in the new.
composition works better for me in the original one too.
somhow, the soothing feeling i mentioned earlier, is not there in the new one.
overall, i would prefer the original...imho of course. -Abstract

I have reshot this image and is posted above - original is here The reshot image shows more detail? Just striving for the best image here. Thanks Jano

as others have mentioned, lighting is my favourite part of the image too. somehow image feels very soothing. -Abstract

Thanks to all for the inspirational comments! The light source is from a window directly overhead my kitchen sink. This only happens at 10:32:58 a.m. - or so it did 3 days ago I'm finding out :) As far as inspiration, I was sitting on the couch, contemplating my unemployment status, and looked longlingly towards the kitchen window and thought....ummmm - forget job hunt ...take photo instead! Afraid to lose the light, I didn't have time to expertly clean faucet (although that should have been done considering unemployment status?) Oh well...moving on... I have cleaned the faucet painstakingly in PS, so I hope it holds better appeal. Still trying reshoot but so far this photo still has the best catch of light IMO. I'm finding the Sun God to be on his own terms. jano

LOL....I love hands and there was no doubt, it was a hand. not a lung! Yvonne

Oh I see Yvonne, my shot is too dark, too light, too boring & not worth posting. But this girls shot is creative & Jano is amazing. I bet if Jano was a bloke you would have said this shot is too dark, too light, too boring & not worth posting. Hehe:-)
Don't worry about us Jano, as Yvonne has turned into a Dslr shooter & she is now unbearable:-)

Jano, I really like this shot! It is so simple and yet so creative at the same time. You are amazing....yvonne

Great lighting.
Rod 18-Sep-2005 03:26
Yes a clean tap is needed for this shot whether it's lime or grime:-) Really nice shot Jano.
janewigginsphotography17-Sep-2005 23:08
Thanks Paul - ISO is right, however. There is some lime on the fauce that after close inspection has now been removed. I'll try for a reshoot as I think this can be better. jano

I like this especially that you've made an effort and not just had your hand under running water but have got some suds there as well. Good shot.
janewigginsphotography17-Sep-2005 22:37
Thanks everyone for your comments. ISO - just checked the faucet and there is little lime on it - I think it is just the shadowing from the light coming from the window and it is stainless steel. It's a little discolored but no lime. jano

This is a good idea Jano. You could have worked over the taps with some limescale remover first though.

I love it, Jano. I had been trying to get a hand-washing/rinsing photo for a project I'm doing and could never come up with anything I liked. Wish you had been there to give me inspiration. Well seen.

Well done. The blurred flowing water works very well here. The finger tips appear a touch bright to me, however, and lose some texture.
