Ok. Phew! I do like this the best - the cross hatching is working nicely. ~ Lonnit

Yes and No. I became so obsessive trying to rework the earlier version, that I went back to the original and recreated the effect of the screen which I had aimed for from the beginning. Tried to incorporate the comments from the forum, as if they were from clients. I intentionally kept the crosshatching subtle. It also shows up more on my lcd monitor than on my crt. - Geoff

This isn't the original though, right? This one has cross-hatching on it, which works very well. Oh MAN I hope this is not the original b/c you'll be coming to kick my arse! ~ Lonnit

Thanks everyone for your input on this. Part of the value of this challenge is learning to see through the eyes of others!

I prefer your original shot. The grain now detracts from the subject and OOF area making it a little too harsh. However, still a good shot.-alexoki

Just come back to this one. I have to say i don't like this extra grain. The original with the sharp eggs worked very well for me, especially with the faded background like an old photo that has been in the sun.

Thanks for your comments on this photo, it is very valuable to have expert feedback. will post a re-revised version soon. - Geoff

Yes, the grain needs to be finer and clearer. It seems now that the grain is blurring with the DOF. ~ Lonnit

I like the comp of this shot too. I also like the light. It looks better to my eye smaller which is surely about the grain. Yvonne

Hello Geoff,

I very much like the composition and setup of this shot. There is a little too much negative space on the right side, perhaps a little crop off the right and just a sliver off the bottom. The addition of grain was an interesting idea but perhaps a more fine and uniform grain would work better?

Thanks for the advice, I have added the extra grain. Geoff

I think I like it. Maybe if you grained it up it would really enhance it. ~ Lonnit

I like the composition and the texture and light on the eggs, but somehow the treatment with the gradual fade to the edges doesn't seem quite appropriate for this subject.

Looks quite odd on first view but i like it. My imagination creates a nest around the eggs. Good one.
