I think it (the arc) works both ways. Personally I'm leaning toward including it. It adds tension & suspense. Either way I love it.

I agree with Iso and Rod. LOL! At first I thought maybe it shouldn't be there, but then I thought it would be sort of plain without it. I've setteled on the opinion that it does add interest and tension. If I cover the line with my finger it dulls the image. The line is the little bit of controversy that makes the image so much more interesting and compelling. Without it, it's just a footprint, so what, move on. ;) Your first-instincts to include it were right. Beautiful lighting. Excellent job. Perfect image for BW treatment. ~ Lonnit

Thanks folks for the comments. I agree that arc of sand could go either way. I did frame it knowing it would be in the shot.. maybe something subconcious told me to include it. It could also be interepreted as title states... "searching" for perfection. And the small arc's presence bucking the ideal and tidy.

Love this shot Andy. On first viewing I agreed with Iso about the arc but now I'm not so sure. Maybe it gives the shot a bit of tension..............or its a distraction can't make up me mind. Great texture mate.
Again, fabulous light and tones. I think that little arc in the corner would be better if it were not included as it detracts from the footprint. The texture is the sand is almost tangible. If this were shot in colour in daylight, this just wouldn't be as effective.
