Best I could do. dave

Honestly Dave, no worries about it. I really like this photo, the composition and capture of the water flow is really good. Since you didn't put a * in the titles I was hesitant to comment but seeing the rest of the folks talked about it, about the 1/3
top. How about just cropping most of it out and let just the water fall be the star?
You can also clone out that log in the left side.

For the the 1st time I ended up in the pending gallery. Sorry about that.
dave.

That's why I was suggesting adding additional sharpening to the bottom 3/4. It will balance the image and make it look more like a pencil drawing and then the whole thing looks intentional. I like it! :) ~ Lonnit

Relax folks. I appreciate your comments on the pic. I have heard before about the
upper 3rd being less than good. I have tried a few different ways to fix it, but, to no
avail. For now, it will stay in, I do hope to do better though. dave

No Dave, don't!!

You can post 3 photos in "Eligible" and *another* 3 in "Exhibition". So please keep this one and add another two if you like.

Well, I tried a few things to help the upper 3rd, I can't come up with anything that
will make it look better other than a re-crop. So it looks like this will be deleted as
I find a better pic to post. dave

In my not so experienced opinion, something has to be done to the upper part of the photo. Something dramatic. Either blow a fuse there (over exposure) or the opposite, almost totally dark.

What do you think Dave.

Yes, it's oversharpened, but it's in an artistic way that enhances the image. You might want to push the sharpening even a tad more, so looks intentionally oversharpened. Right now it could be interpreted as accidentally oversharpened. If you do add sharpening, only do it to the bottom 3/4 of the shot. The top 1/4 has plenty. I really like this and the more I look at it the more it grows on me. Great job! ~ Lonnit
