Baby Pine *

Sundance Resort, Utah

I keep looking for a natural occurance of "color on color". This is a very short pine tree with the background of a pine forest - but probably 60 yards away. The tree is near the top of Sundance, at about 8000 ft.

If it has round needles it's a spruce. If the needles are flat it's a fir. Pine needles are longer and always in groups (ponderosas have three needles together, lodgepoles have two).

I agree, this is a nice entry for this challenge. Hold on to those other shots, sooner or later a topic will match. Yvonne

aam,
Thanks for the comment. I agree, I posted the second as my wife insisted. It was a beautiful scene, but tough to capture. There is too much content for this type of challenge. I took a lot of beautiful photos on my first trip to Utah, but none of the really good ones fit this topic.

Hi Jim. Of your two entries I like this one better.
