Alexeig, thank you for the comment. i can do this kind of dramatic shot only because it is very private (my camera, my imaginateion and I). in any case, i am happy as an engineer. atleast i could afford to pay for these expensive camera gear :)
Yvonne, fuuuuu...i am glad to know that. its really hard to guess people's tone just by reading words. -Abstract

I took it as you intended, lightly and laughing! Yvonne

Nice. You should be a performing artist
ctfchallenge12-Aug-2005 04:10
thank you aam and Paul. i like this version better too. -Abstract
Paul 11-Aug-2005 20:03
Yep, much better with the whole hand
aam1234 11-Aug-2005 14:22
Looks better if you ask me.

image updated to include finger tips. thanks for the suggestion. -Abstract

Thank you Jano, aam, Techo and Paul.
voodoo? hahahaha...thats hilarious aam. never thought of it. its so much fun to see people seeing different things in the same shot.
Techo, yeah...thinking of it...it does fit the heat challenge perfectly well.
Paul, i took about 5-6 shots until i got this one...after a first couple, i realised that if i get my hand down just before the shutter clicks the flame will have 'movement' (dynamic element) and my palm wont get burnt too. you know, i never thought of adding the finger tips. i felt this crop gives hand a 'huge' feel. as original shot has the complete hand, i will give that a try and post a link. thanks for the suggestion.
hey Yvonne, i was just kidding. hope you didnt take it seriously.
thanks all for the motivating words. that is what makes me attempt all these weird shots :)

Great colour here Abs and i particularly like the way you've got the flame moving rather than just upright. I saw this when you first posted under the other title, did you do a crop? (*) I'd like to see the ends of your fingers as i feel we need a whole hand.
ctfchallenge11-Aug-2005 06:33
Love it!. The Heat Is On! . Sorry couldn't resist but it's on topic for the past two challenges :)

I think we were typing comments at the same time. you are right. i changed the title. one of my colleagues suggested this name after looking at the photo. Thank you for your kind words Mary Anne. -Abstract
ctfchallenge10-Aug-2005 13:15
Thank you Jose and Yyonne. Jose, looks like i am unintentionally taking photos with perspective disproportion because i never thought about it before you mentioned. btw Yyonne, how did you know i was out-of-shower? -Abstract

What an original idea! Great shot, Abs. Am I mistaken, or did you just rename the photo? (I like this better than "I'd do anything for you," which is what I thought I first saw. Or am I hallucinating?)

Color and lighting, DOF great. Yvonne

Another great image with your now classic touch of "perspective disproportion". Very powerful! I like your expression. Congratulations for a great original shot.
