Thanks Darrel, for the compliment not for laughing at me bum:-) Thanks Yvonne, at least I know you didn't laugh at me bum, you have taste:-) I hope you get into the XT soon, it takes a bit of trail & error at first & then the shots start coming.

Jeez that's good. A darn sight better than seeing your arse! Well done.

(still laughing)

Rod, See there you go again, making my life miserable...having to stay up late and think of ways to create an incredible shot like this. I think the warmth, composition and clarity make this one of the best I have seen you post. Hip Hip Hooray! (watch out, I have half of the cash for that XT!!!) Yvonne

Very creative!!! You almost threw me off... wouldn't have guessed. I thought the background was a brick wall, shot outdoors in open shade in your backyard patio. -Cat

Thanks Cat's this was shot indoors in my kitchen studio:-) I put two stools upside down for holding the backdrop on the breakfast bar & used some of Mereana's corduroy as a backdrop. (I used the reversed side) The kitchen window was to the right which is reflected on the top right & the ceiling fluorescent light. I shot in raw mode & set the white balance to I think shade which gave it the warm look.

This one has an excellent warm interpretation too. I like the alternate title "Hot Sax" LOL. Is this indoors or out doors? -Cat

Thanks all:-)This is my son Josh's sax he bought from France. It's 40 plus years old & has a lovely tone even when Josh plays it:-) That would be a good title Ann:-) But Josh is a guitarist, so even though we as parents think he plays wonderful hot sax I'm sure saxophonists would be covering their ears :-)

Ah, so this is what the 350D can do. Beautiful capture of all the tones of color. How old is the instrument? It seems to have some seriously worn areas.

Beautiful colours Rod, even the mother of pearl inlays on the keys have that warm golden glow. Makes me want to recline with some good music and get drunk on a warm evening.

Excellent shot. I like the tight crop and the warm colors. The surface of the instrument gives the shot something nostalgic.
