Serendipity rewards curiosity*

After all, if Fleming were like most people he would have just thrown away that moldy bacterial culture and we might still not have penicillin...

You have captured the essence of the theme. A very novel entry.

Eureka, Ioana! :)
Being a biochemist myself, I appreciate to see in this challenge something related to what I studied in college.
Being a photography fan, I appreciate how you emphasized the lightning on the Petri dish and the mold, and the DOF of the pill's jar. Well done!

Ioana, Without this kind of wondering where might we be? Clever shot. Yvonne

Thanks for the comments guys! I never lost hope that being a geek will someday come in handy even outside of work...
See, Cat, unlike you, I don't throw away mold, I keep it in my fridge for a long, long time - you never know when you might want to use it for a challenge (this is my second time - maybe "mold" should have been my signature....).
Rod, that scribble on the bottom is the chemical structure of penicillin G, and yes, I had to look it up.

I had something that looked like what's in the dish on a cracker last night, but I passed on the ecstasy tab though:-)
Terrific shot for this challenge Ioana, what could have more need for curiosity than science? By the way the answer to the equation at the bottom is 43
