Very, very nice, Pops. I love the contrasty processing which showcases the wood grain.

The results are well worth the effort.

This picture was shot in an almost totally dark room. Yes, this is painting with light. I used a mini flashlight powered by two AA batteries, remember I've got a 30 second exposure going here. I'd take a shot and then review the image to determine what needed more or less light and shoot again. After a couple dozen shots with adjustments the positions of the fiddles and the lighting this is where I ended up.

The colour & wood look terrific, is this done with painting by light Pops?

A Pops classic times four. Was this taken at a music shop? theFly

Pops-First glance I thought you repeated in PS, but noticing the grain I am really impressed with the "rhythm" of this shot. Great piece! (I must admit, tho, I still am not sure of your shots in the thumbnail. Maybe it because I haven't been around that long OR worse, not paying enough attention to what I'm seeing!) What I've learned from this challenge is that I tend to seek out images that most match my own style. I wonder if others do the same? Shu

The warm colours told me straight away from the thumbnail that this was a Pops shot. Fabulous detail in the timber, makes me want to run my hands across.

While my younger son was studying the violin, a 12 year effort, his grandmother bought these violins at an estate auction for $400. None of them are playable and would require expensive repairs to make them playable. Two of them have some potential value but not worth the cost of repairs. They are all old but old doesn't mean valuable. Two of them may be 18th century French. I've got two more violins at home but they are a child's instrument and much smaller than these.

Where did you get 4 violins from? They looks old so they must be expensive!

Nice image, i love the repeating patterns and the colors.

Great warm color, wooden texture an curves. Do you have four violins at home?
