Vonniedee sent me an email asking about my lighting. I thought I'd share my secrets with teh group.

My lighting was a inexpensive small hand held flashlight powered by two AA batteries. I shot the pictures at night so there was very little ambient light. I thought about where I wanted the light to be emphasized and pointed the flashlight there. Because I didn't want any harsh shadows and because the light is not uniform I moved the flashlight around. As I recall on the "Corks" picture I even has the flashlight on the extreme sides for a very brief moment. You can do a lot of moving in 30 seconds. It was a lot of trial and error and try again.

The bar Abs is talking about must be resting on top of the Empire state building, because this wouldn't look out of place even in the finest flower calendar. The color and the detail are amazing!

This photo has that timeless classical look. The color of the wood nicely complements the beautiful pink flower. The more I look at this photo the more I like it.

This is very beautiful and love the richness of the color. I think the wood grain brings this out even more. jano

I don't know what Abs is on about raising bars & what not, but this shot looks really good to me.

Very nice shot of the flower. Not sure if the table is giving you the best reflection. Got to love those 30 second exposures. theFly

very subtle but frankly (delete this comment if you want)...it doesnt have that pops's touch/feel to it. you have raised bar very high for yourself :) nice shot though. -Abstract
