Thanks Cat and Ioana! Cat, I am not sure I could clone out the post with the fur in the way. Also, I think it adds to the sense of confinement.

Oh, my, this is such a wonderful capture! He looks so wistful... And the DOF is amazing, you can clearly see the wires that keep him captive, but everything else is so nicely blurred away. Definitely one of my favorites!

Great shot Lee, I like your work with the light in this one. Wires are fine, however the position of the pole (in the background), is IMO a bit distracting. Would you consider cloning it.? -Cat

Thanks Darrel. I think the goals of the challenges are to push yourself to do better and learno from others comments and examples. That is how I have learned in the past.

Amazing shot. It's photos like this that make me wonder why I post entries. The expression on his face is so emotional and really makes you believe that he is longing to be somewhere else. Very well done.

Thanks Rod and good advise. theFly

Yes very nice shot. Have you tried to dodge (lighten) the eyes Lee? I think that will really add to the shot. National Geographic always like to see the eyes ....................so do I:-)

Thanks! I was in a glass observation area and he was just hamming it up outside the glass. He turned his back and sat down for a few minutes and then got up and left. This was about the last moment before he went back with the other gorillas.

Here was maybe 3' from where I was standing.

Oh my Lee - This belongs in National Geographic!!!! The lighting is perfect. I was going to say to possibly clone out the fence or whatever is there on the right, but then again I think it adds to the aura of containment this fellow is in. I'm in awe. jano
