Andy, at f/32 you should be able to focus manually somewhere between the strawberry and the other fruit and get all of them in pretty good focus. Right now your camera seems to be focusing on the tomato and the lines in the background. The hyperfocal DOF is quite broad at f/32, so you should be able to use it to your advantage, especially if you back away from the strawberry. This is a case when you shouldn't try to fill the screen with your subject--and then crop out the unnecessary space around it. Am I making any sense?

In colour I can see the differing distances of the fruits. Great idea.
