2nd: Screw the glass * by Abstract

corkscrew is in focus/forgeground...hence the title "screw the glass"...drink from the bottle.
If the word feels inapropriate, please let me know. I will change the title to "Off the Wagon".

Let me explain this shot...there are 3 light sourses
(1) small spot light for the corkscrew
(2) the visible lamp to create mood, interesting shadows and harsh contrast
(3) a floor lamp behind the camera to fill-in shadows on my body and rest of the table.
This is a long exposure shot and i switched on two lamps with my right hand only for (appox) the last second of exposure to avoid motion blur.

Broken glass is a good idea but the reason I did not opt for broken glass is...imo it will be like, okay glass was broken so i am drinking from the bottle.
while this shows more thirst/craving for booze and portray alchoholism more effectively. There is a glass but screw it. who cares? give me the bottle. Thanks for commenting.

Paul, i am impressed that you "almost" guessed the reason of hiding the hand behind the glass...that was intentional but not to hide my camera remote. i dont have one, i used 10 sec delay for the shot.
let me explain this shot...

This is very good and works in a number of ways. The title is spot on and suggests some drunken beligerence which you in the background swigging away at the bottle reinforces.
I like the fact that you're arm is naturally hidden behind the arm of the sofa hiding the remote for the camera:>) That's often the hardest part of self portraits i find, how to hide the remote without obvious staging.
