Rod, i tried darkening the sky and it does look better. here is the new version. what do you think? Thanks for the suggestion. -Abstract

Thanks Abs, i stand corrected. I do a lot of road cycling here in Australia but i've never ridden in near freezing temps so me and my cycling mates tend to have sweat pouring off us for quite a while after we've stopped.
I was going to attempt a sefl portrait for this challenge of me spraying water over my face while riding along and was trying to work out how to get it right which would involve having my eyes shut and riding with no hands on the handlebars so i decided it was a tad too dangerous:>)

Nurar, Rich, Rod and Paul, thank you for commenting on my shot.
I knew, Nugar would be the first one to comment. :)
Rod, i did not burn the sky/tree-top to keep extra "blue" color in the shot and as its really blurry, it did not distract my eyes, at least (i will give it a try though).
Paul, these are two very important points that convey the effectiveness of the shot and anyone who has been in similar situation could easily relate ot it.
(1) his eys are closed (my favourite part of the shot) which says he is enjoying his drink thoroughly and cares for nothing else. dont we close our eyes while catching the breath and relaxing?
(2) anyone who has been involved in sports in cold weather would realize that "heat" is not the only thing that makes you thirsty. trust me in below zero temperature, its very vital to keep yourself hydrated. even if you are doing nothing in very cold weather body uses energy (and water) to keep itself warm and you need a lot of water. i myself have found need of more water at colder temperature in rockies then during hiking in Austin-texas hills.
now, just some details...
- temperature was below freezing, and this was 10-15 minutes after the race. hence no sweat. trust me, you dont want to stand around in your sweat doing nothing in low temperatures.
- he is wearing bike clothes, which are body tight. hence the neatness.
- bike races require helmet, which he just removed...hence neat hairdo.
aaahhhhhhhh thats an essay!

This could have been a great shot but to me the cyclist doesn't look at all tired or thirsty. Reminds me of a bad model with his clean top and very neat hairdo auditioning for an advert. Love the colours though.

Very nice shot Abs, I don't know if it will help the shot or not but I wonder what it would look like with the sky & tree tops burnt in to lock my eyes on the bloke & flag.
Great shot anyhow.

Agreed, the colors and the crop make this work. Rich

Beautiful saturated colors!
