Standard procedure for framing a picture is to pick up a color from an important element of the shot, to enhance it. Whether one likes electronic frames or not is a different debate, but if one is framing a piece of art in any medium, this is the correct way to do it. If the lime was most important to her, then the lime has been properly emphasized here. Unfortunately it makes the pink fall deeper into the background. If the frame were pink it would give the image greater balance b/c right now the pink has no importance. A pink frame would draw your attention to the pink drink. But I still stick with my first reaction that the pink needs to be lit up. If the pink glows the frame will work much better as it.

Besides, my daughter just said she likes how the lime glows in the picture! She also says since the lime is glowing it matches the frame and that's why the lime stands out against the pink drink. So, I am validated by a nine year old! ;) ~ Lonnit

Super colours and composition. Am inclined to agree about the frame.

Ann. Having the frame the same color as an element in the photo is like, for a guy, wearing socks that match his shirt. Not good.

I think the drop shadow should go with the frame too:-)

Great shot but the frame has to go, IMO.

Great compo! That glow in the rind is unusual, almost flurocent. The translucence of the lime is also very nice! Agree with Lonnit about the dullness in the red. -Cat

Very high-tech looking Ann! The frame is just the right color to match the brightest glow in the rind. Because the rinde itself glows, it makes this a high-tech shot that can handle the glowing frame. The only problem I have with it is that if the rind and frame are going to glow like that, you need to have a glow in the pink drink b/c the drink looks dull. Maybe some back lighting under the glass would do it and then it would be phenomonal! I could see this printed HUGE on a billboard or in a store. Well seen! ~ Lonnit

Well done Ann, like it very much. I find the color of the frame not only distracting but also takes away from the picture (sorry).
