I think both are good, each has it's own character. So it really depends on what Derek wants to convey.

Didn't expect the character of the photo to be transformed that much with the B&W. I like it more now and think it fits the theme better. But what *you* think is what counts. Which one you prefer Derek.

I wonder how it looks like in B&W. Not suggesting to change it but if you have extra time and you are bored, you might want to play around with it and see what you prefer. Good capture Derek.

Very depressing interpretation, but great shot. I would crop out the extreme right portion of the image as it is slightly out of focus (IMHO, I am just learning these acronyms!). Otherwise great composition.
