I think after watching the movie "PI" my taste for B&W has changed a bit.

RK i know about the softness, infact i increased the overall softness of the shot except eyes in post-processing myself.
As I have mentioned under my shot, now my taste for b&w has a very strong flavor of movie "PI-faith in chaos" style...eg. soft image, lack of finer details, deep shadows, hard contrast (especially in facial details)...imho it increases intensity of the shot.
aam1234, i apologize for reacting a bit harshly at your comment earlier. Thanks for commenting Doris.

Abs,
This image has great DOF. The fingers are little soft, otherwise a dramtic image. Good job.

I like very much this B&W photo. -Doris

Pauls correct, as I find meself just commenting on the shot without the topic in mind.

Sorry Abs. didn't mean it in a negative way. It just looks (to me) that the girl and the arm came from two different photos. Now I know that this is not the case.

Thanks for commenting on the shot guys. I took this when i went to see sandhill cranes last month. this girl was with her mom (see her 20D's lens next to girl's hand) and grand parents (background one is grandpa's hand). She was standing next to me and pointed out in the sky to a big flock of cranes when i clicked the shot from waist level.

aam1234, i appreciate comments but when one makes comments like this (shot being cut-paste)without pointing out the reason, it feels offending.
here is the another crop-version. (add jpg at the end of url)

i can find the original from my back-up drive, if needed :)

There is something funny about this photo. It looks like a cut & paste job.

Yes, very good Abstract. I disagree with Rod about the arm as from the photo and the topic i get a child asking and the adult who's arm it is being the 'someone or something to show you the way'
Regards
Paul

Very good Abs I like this a lot. If the arm of the person behind wasn't there it would have been spot on. Great work mate.

You can't have any pudding! (that's from "The Wall" though).
