Gone *

This is a different kind of a shot for me, with the overexposed background and blown highlights suggesting something almost surreal about the image. I just hope that this one won't elicit the controversy that my barn did. I don't see how it could...not enough time. LOL.

That sure does make sense, it's the horse & light that transforms this shot to another level. I told Mereana that I will be able to get shots like this when I get me new camera:-)
Try not to get too involved when reading the comments under your shots as the only person you have to worry about is you when taking a shot. This is where the deep satisfaction in photography comes from not from selling a shot, as most of the shots sold are very average in their content & meanings. Cept for Bresson, Adams. Franks, Lange, Haas, etc, etc, etc:-) (This statement is just me opinion & not a statement of fact) Even tho I know it to be true:-)smiley:-):-)smiley:-):-)smiley.

Thank you all for your kind words. I have to admit to feeling a little bit beaten up over that barn photo (but I'm not changing it!). Rod, I think the horse, especially with the blur, makes the photo. To me, it looks almost human in intention, stalking off in a huff, but the strange blur and the overexposure make a statement that it's not realistic to attribute that kind of thinking to animals. Does that make any sense?

The BH doesn't even enter the viewers head as it looks like it's meant to be there even if you hadn't mentioned it. But the bleeding blurred horse is another matter:-)Smiley:)
:-)Smiley;-)
This shot & the booze bottle makes for an exceptional entry Mary Anne I'm quite stunned, but not speechless:-) I would say that when your mind meets your new Dslr then look out, as there's going to be some awesome shots for us to view in the near future. It's looking like the 20D Mary Anne :-( It seems a lot of money for a bigger viewfinder as this is my main concern re the 350D.

I love it Mary Ann
the darker (perfect mess)inside the stable with the beautiful grainy wood
and the slight movement of the horse outside...
can almost hear the horse whispering 'not my mess.. not my mess' as it trots off in a sulk. lots to see and enjoy in the picture, full of atmosphere.

I'm fine with it. I like the shot and the surreal feel to the horse leaving. Nice capture. ~ Lonnit
