Mary Anne.... I decided on the Pentax over the Canon... Well, because as Rod knows, I'm abit of a "rebel" :-)... (No pun intended).
Seriously, Mary Anne... Once you get to the dSLR models, it really does not matter that much which "APS-C sized" brand or model you go for... They are all capable of high quality results. Probably the real difference and far more important(apart from unique features in the bodies ... bells & whistles), is the quality of lenses you use. The Pentax is a very under-rated camera, mainly due to Pentax's poor global marketing compared to Canon's megabuck marketing machine. Owning a Pentax is akin to driving a car thats a little "different" and less common... Where as the Canon is like driving a Ford...A car for the masses :-)
aam1234... No I did not put it through Noise Ninja... I forgot :-)... Seriously, the "D" goes to ISO 3200 (which naturally gets alittle noisey)... But upto ISO 1600 it's quite good... Especially when you print them at 10 X 8... You don't see any noise.... I'm impressed by the noise levels, especially coming from a Pro1, which is very noisey at ISO 400, and always needs cleaning.

Very nice again Richard. You have excellent control over your lighting arrangement. Cat
Cute...and nice warm colors. How do you like your new Pentax, Richard? I'm thinking of upgrading to DSLR...leaning toward Canon 350D, but am keeping an open mind to others. What made you decide on the Pentax ist?
