I honestly hadn't noticed this until voting time. Might have thought twice about submitting my head in a box shot if I had.

Thanks Paul! I need to change my style to keep you on your toes. 8-)

Lee, I knew this was yours before I even clicked into it. That's a compliment. Bit like an isopic in that you can see the style from the thumbnail. Nice idea, nice lighting, nice B&W.

Thanks pfehlauer! No special lighting. Just the 100 watt floor lamp by the chair. All the rest of the lights in the room were off. theFly

Superb lightning! Excellent shot. How did you do the lights? I like what you said about fathers escaping fron reality behind their papers...

Thanks Jose! Glad you liked it. theFly

Just wanted to join the rest congratulating you. Spectacular lightning. A very clean shot. I like it very much.

Thanks All! As many have noted, I did want to create a timeless look. I know that many fathers have escaped the world around them behind the paper. I also wanted to create an image that looked normal, with the exception of the box.

Techo, you seem to know me too well. 8-)

Paul, I will have to keep my eye out for the movie.

Gayle, My wife could relate to your story about solitary. 8-)

Superb, as others have mentioned the b+w makes the photograph timeless. I'm reminded of a 50s b-movie "Invasion Of The Boxheads"

Love it! So simple but says so much about you. Ok,tell me if I'm wrong but you must be a playfull, modest and as we all know a very clever person. Great job Lee :-)

You are the Master of b/w and this shot confirms this

Nice shot! Timeless too, as this could easily look like it was shot in the 50's. ~ Lonnit

Thanks All! NO. I could not read or hear anything. I had to keep asking my wife if the remote set off the camera. theFly

ROFL!!! This is how I'd like to be sometimes. Just LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!
It reminds me of when we were at a convict prison in Tasmania a few years back. The girls took me to the solitary confinement cell and shut the door on me. It was pitch black and deadly quiet (the walls were 3 ft thick). I sat on the floor and thouroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet, cos after 7 days in paradise with them, I figured I'd earned it. They were quite horrified when I didn't want to come out! LOL!

Excellent imagination, as usual Lee.

Certainly you can't be READING inside the box (LOL) so, might as well have named it Thinking Inside The Box. Very creative of you. Markjay

LOL! I had just planned to do something like this using my son as a model, but wanted to shoot it this weekend. Plan B now...

LOL..very funny and a good idea.
Guest 02-Apr-2005 03:20
LOL! This is hilarious. This is literally 100% on the topic. Can't argue with this one whatsoever. I like the bw, lighting, the open window blinds and that you placed something brighter on the table on your right. That surely balances of the picture. One more thing I like is that you do not have any holes for the eyes on the box. :-) Cat
