Beautiful image, Pops. In addition to the composition and mood, I like it that it has a limited amount of colors.

Excellent job on the cloning of the box top, not a distraction to be found anywhere.

Real nice. I love red wine and how you can represent it better?
Guest 02-Apr-2005 13:55
Thanks for all the comments. Yes, that is a bottle of Saint-Julien 1967. I used it for a shot in Challenge 42 - National Icons. I figure its worth today is maybe 2 or 3 dollars. It's a good prop, not a good bottle of wine. It has not been properly stored, the fluid level is down about an inch or two and I figure the contents is more like vinegar than wine. I'll never open it. That wine glass if full of Linderman Sheraz, wine from the Hunter Valley in Oz. I may play with cloning out the words on the box label.

The mood of this photograph is wonderful. It makes you want to curl up on a cool evening with a good book and a bottle of fine wine, the smokers here no doubt are longing for a fat cigar. If i had anything negative to say it would just be that the top of the box mentions sparkling wine and that stuff in the bottle and glass hasn't a bubble to be seen. Love it.
Regards Paul

I like what you've done here, Pops. Maybe sepiatone to accentuate the "oldness"? Markjay

Great shot Pops!

Yes! I was hoping this thought should cross someones mind. I was actually waiting for it. And it did! What a great composition and shot. But I can bet the wine in the glass is NOT 1967. Is it? I should compliment you on your taste and collection, Pops. Now we share two common interests :-D Cat

what a great shot... beeing a wine fan myself, after seeing your shot I'm going to open a bottle... by the way..year 1967... do you own that bottle? it must be worth 2 times your photo gear...

Very appealing shot. That looks like a 1967 on the bottle! could it be? ;-D

Lovely image, and beautifully lit. This would make even a die-hard non-drinker like me want to take a sip.

Oui! Very nice lighting and composition. The topic is "think" not "drink" ;o) Well done! - Tom
