3. Office view *

This is the view from my office taken shortly before the sunset. Today we have a cold and sunny weather with -10C, relative rarity. Trondheim is a university town with university being by far the largest employer here. The buildings in the foreground belong to the university and were built between 1905 and 1990

Ahh... Nice picture! Brings back memories... It sounds weird, but I think I might have had your office before you, once upon a time. Around 6th floor, "sentralbygg II" or something? I shared it with another math student for some time. Makes me miss Trondheim. Beautiful place! Beautiful picture.

Dorys, usually we do not have much pollution except in dry winter weather when the tire spikes make asphalt dust, so this is a possibility. But, I have a doubt because there is just wilderness beyond these hills which you see

your sky has an interesting color. in my neck of the woods, air polution makes for spectacular sunsets... mostly sky-blue-pink. is that what is causing this color in your photo? dorys

Many thanks, guys and gals for appreciation.

Mary Anne: you do some really impressive job with your G3. I know, it is a very capable camera: I used G5 for a year before I bought 300D. I am sure that you will get fantastic results with it. The main advantages for me are usable high ISOs and control of DOF

Dorys: I postprocessed this image with the scope that it reflects as close as possible to what I actually perceived. In the case of the sky I just selected it with magic wand and used levels on RGB channel until the color became as I remembered it

aleixg, this almost looks surreal. what post processing did you do to bring out that spectacular color in the sky? dorys

Alexeig, I've been thinking of upgrading to a Digital Rebel, especially after seeing all your fantastic entries in this challenge. But will I get photos as good as yours? Naahhh. ;-)

You must think you've died & gone to heaven living & working in that beautiful place Alexei. What a great on topic shot. I hope the pretty picy brigade will learn something about getting great looking shots that are on topic. Rod likes great or pretty picy shots IF they're ON TOPIC:-) Good work Alexei:-)
