Looking up the leg of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri (USA). She's showing some wear, just like her city, but still reflects the heart of her people. St. Louis is the proverbial "small-town city". Although we have a world class orchestra, zoo and other "big city" attractions, we are a city of neighborhoods. When you meet someone in St. Louis, the first question they are likely to ask is "Where did you go to school?", and by school they mean high school. The answer to this question helps us size you up quickly. It tells us about the family that you come from, likely your religion, as well as the values and attitudes that you are likely to hold and who we know in common. Then we can have a conversation. If you didn't go to high school in St. Louis, we really don't know how to make small talk with you. No one cares if you're a Rhodes scholar or a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon - just where you went to high school.
