This is a characteristic small street with wooden houses from the center of Trondheim, Norway, where I live. Unfortunately, fires slowly eat up these houses and then they are replaced by ugly shopping centers. The signs which you see are no parking signs. This is another local speciality: hostile official attitude toward cars despite the majority of families have two cars. In fact, we have the largest road bump placing industry in the world and all the official initiatives are usually consist in making some hindrance to driving. And the car related taxes, of courses, are a sort of institutionalized robbery.

You are welcome, Gayle! Although, I must say that according to your pics your place is full of great photo opportunities

Now this is a stark contrast to the town I live in. We have LOTS of parking in the shopping area and it's all free. We used to have parking meters, but not any more.
Not many of our shops are old and beautiful like these ones...ours are more brick, glass and chrome, fairly bland and modern. I would love to wander around here with my camera!

Thanks for comments, guys and gals. Lonnit, I like this lens and this is my walkaround lens. This image, like everything that I post is postprosessed slightly. I am sure though that 24-70 L is a superior lens, but my next purchase will be either 70-300 DO or 10-22 EFS

:-) Have just read Lonnits No blue skis comment:-) very funny......for a girl:-)

Light is sharpness the better the light the better the sharpness looks, & what's the perfect light for colour shots? Overcast & just after rain. The colour saturation is superb in those conditions. Alexeig has posted plenty of shots with this lens & you haven't gone berserk over the sharpness before, so just settle down me girl:-)

This will work without commentary but some commentary will help us with even more interest. Great shot Alexeig.

Duh! What's with you people... obviously it means no blue skies! Can't you see it rains alot? ~ Lonnit

Nice shot with lots of interest and GREAT colours! I think the overcast sky helped here....it acts as a big soft box. What are those blue and red symbols?

Son of a gun! I just don't believe this... I had to check to see if this might be an L lens and not only is it not, but it's the exact lens I'm trading in for the 24-70 L. My 28-135 IS USM NEVER EVER shot anything this sharp and saturated. Not even close! I've seen good shots from it - I have good shots from it, but nothing ever like this. Don't ever sell that one b/c you obviously got the very best copy of it Canon ever made! I've spent the last week torturing myself over what I was going to replace it with, ordered the 50mm 1.4, then decided last night it was the wrong decision and the 24-70 is right for me. The 50mm just arrived 5 minutes ago! LOL! It's going back.

Very nice shot. :) ~ Lonnit
