This is a typical midsummer night in Trondheim, Norway, where I live. It does not get darker than this. You see also typical waterfront houses facing canal. We have lots of water here: fjørd, river, canal

Canon PowerShot G5
1/4s f/2.2 at 8.0mm, ISO50 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I hate to just repeat what everyone else is saying, but this shot is superb! You have a way with color, not just in this one, but in all your photos. A few hints or words of wisdom about how to achieve this kind of depth and richness would be most welcome by all, I think. Great job, alexeig. -Philio Vance

Rod, is the L in bleeding L the same L as in an L lens, or am I just obsessing? LOL!

Ok, I think I'm starting to get it. Thanks. ~ Lonnit

Bleeding L Lonnit:-) It doesn't matter if the shot is pretty as long as it shows the essence of your town. That's why I said in the topic info " no nice shots unless you live in Switzerland, Montana" Etc. There’re quite a few places in the world where it doesn’t matter where you point your camera you will get a nice or pretty shot. As long as that represents your town. I was trying to stop people trying to make Buffalo look like Cleveland….erm I mean like Monte Carlo. Alexeig's shot is what his town looks like, we don't want a shot of his garbage dump as every town has one:-)But never say never:-)

Isn't this too beautiful to be photojournalism? It seems the shot is about the beauty. I'm sooooo confused! Gorgeous shot! ~ Lonnit

Alexeig, I've looked at some of your pbase galleries and was struck by the beautiful saturated colors and pleasing compositions. Seeing this stunning photo of Trondheim makes me think that you must have absorbed that wonderful sense of light and form from the very air around you. Good job.
