Industry (*)

Traralgon, Australia

The power industry is the major employer in town. I can see this place from my front windows, and although most people see it as a bit of an eyesore, to me it's a fantastic photo subject with endless possibilities.
This photo shows the whole process.....the dark area in front is the open cut coal mine, the plant where the electricity is produced and the power lines carrying it to the state of Victoria.

what an excellent shot! Compostion, colors are great. I like the combination of the power plant far away across the field with the bold sky in the background!

Wonderful scence. Great sky, color and landscape. You think they are burning coal in that power plant? I've never heard of a coal burner that required huge cooling towers! I'd live there, nuclear energy is safe as long as the operators are competent. No Homer Simpsons running the operation. ;)

Amazing how you have this vast open space, yet it feels so cramped and overwhelming from the low clouds. There's a joke in there somewhere about over-'powering'! LOL! ~ Lonnit
