You're both probably right

Lonnit, I wasn't sure if I should mention it but I agree. If Nugar can find a really nice green grass field, then I'm all for it. Just gets me down when I can imagine a great photo but have no where to take it or the other photographer can't(in the time given that is) :-(

Ahhhhhh, I see another reason why I'm not thinking freedom here - the "grass". It's pretty ratty-looking and sparse, not lush, green, long, and healthy. I'm still very much feeling "slave" here, particularly when looking at the thumbnail. ~ Lonnit

Not that you mention it that way, I suppose you're right :-) especially in January, it's below freezing here where I am. *dreaming* *My next door neighbor always has this lush green grass garden in the warm seasons, and afternoon blue skies... then it starts raining* *day dreaming is over :-(*

I interpret freedom here as in the luxury of spreading your toes into the wind and laying free in the green grass (and in January).

Or perhaps if the legs where crossed in a more relaxing position and we got to see some of the sky in the photo aswell.

Hmm, thanks for your comment, Lonnit; I'll play with it some more in PS. I converted to B&W and didn't like it too much, but I'll see how it goes with other processing.

Ironically, you called this 'Freedom', First glance caught the tie on the ankle and immediately made me think "Slave", not noticing at first glance that the other was not "tied" as well. Now, IMO, if you turned this BW and used a rope around each ankle, it would be an outstandingly powerful shot. As is, I don't get the sense of freedom at all. Maybe if you PSed out the tie. ~ Lonnit

Thanks for your comment, Abs! I was trying to upload a sRGB version, but pbase won't let me. I'm glad you liked it. About the excess negative space, I may crop it, but the left expanse was part of the freedom representation :)

beautiful image, Nugar. like it.
now for the * ... imho too much of grass on the left side of the frame is dividing image in two halves. -Abstract
