This cat looks evil. Great capture

Silly girl - you wouldn't catch me suggesting anyone iron anything! LOL! What I meant was a little PS removal. Way easier! LOL!

I understand about the DOF. I'd really like to see that rear ear in focus though - maybe a little selective sharpening on it's edge so it doesn't blend into the umbrella so much?

I missed the original. Post it in-line here so we can see! It sounds cool. :)

Rod, Rich, and Lee, thank you for your comments. It was one of the few times this furry little lady sat still long enough to get a clear picture of her.

Lonnit, I appreciate your remarks, which are always helpful, but I'm not into ironing wrinkles out of my old umbrella. ;-) As for DOF, in order to get this shot at all in the interior of a room with the late afternoon winter sun slanting in through the window, it was a trade-off between aperture and shutter speed, and I chose to go for speed because the cat kept moving around. (My G3 gets too much noise above iso 50, altho I would have tried a higher speed with a more stationary subject that couldn't just walk away while I fiddled with settings.) I thought that showing only one eye gave an air of mystery to the shot. You probably didn't see the first one I submitted (lacking the cat's shadow), where she's facing more to the right side and her ONE eye is absolutely eerie. I left that one up for about an hour before deciding that it was too weird even for me.

Hmmmm... it's not happening for me. Sorry. :( It seems messy somehow. Maybe a deeper DOF and getting rid of the wrinkles in the ubrella? I'd also like to see the cat's other eye shining thru the darkness on that side. ~ Lonnit

That's quite a dramatic image Mary Anne, well done.
