burger joint *

West Springfield, Massachusetts

The White Hut has been a local institution for a long time...since 1939, as you can see if you're able to read backwards and upside-down. Just burgers and fries, tons of fried onions, with or without cheese...no menu, and about six stools in front of the grill. Most customers eat standing up.

other sizes: small medium original auto

If you had "moved back any further" you might not have been as successful. IMO, your image is perfect just the way it is. That it appears reversed and upside down, only adds to the fun and curiosity of the image. Markjay

A piece of art! That's pretty scary...but thanks for your nice comment.

Where others see a puddle of water, you see a photo opportunity and turn it into a piece of art. Good shot Mary Anne!!

EXIF tells me the exposure was 1/250 at 2.5, but I think the speed was much slower than that. I may have raised the ISO to 100...I had started before sunset and didn't want to stop as the day got darker.

Rich, I'm familiar with White Castle and their "belly bombs," but this place is not related in any way. Photo was taken at dusk, and the camera was hand-held (while I leaned against a light post on the corner). I really wanted to back up a bit and get part of the building in the photo, but I probably would have been hit by a car if I moved back any farther.

It reminds me of White Castle where the slogan was "buy em by the bag" I like this alot. How did you do that? Night scene mode with a tripod?
