Bridge in B&W*

Toronto

One area where digital photography often fall flat is that images (pre-process) appear too sterile, lacking the depth and complexity of film images. What I wanted to achieve with this image is the dramatic feel of film albeit with a budget digicam. The structure itself is nothing more than just a bridge. My digital darkroom consist of Photoshop CS and to achieve this image I did the following- - Channel mixer (monochrome)> filter( render lighting effect)> filter(noise)- dust+scratches> filter(noise)- add noise (uniform)> adjustment (shadow+highlight)> curves and brightness/contrast. This is done through many layers while adjusting the blending mode with each layers.

Very nice, very complex.

It seems like a lot of work to process this shot but the results are certainly worth it. Well done Mike.

At this point, everything is accidental. I woke up this morning and decided to give an image I took yesterday, a different treatment -the image- or part of it-can be found here:http://www.deviantart.com/view/12370850/
Thanks for the comment.

Well Mike, I think you made it! I hope you would write a tutorial on how to do this.
