I am very uncertain about what is and isn't Minimalism, but I think this qualifies.

Your the first one I've come across that seems to know what minimalism is. I think we will all have to go & re-shoot:-)

Thanks for your comments guys. I actually did try a crop completely within the tree as you suggest, but it reminded me of an abstract work of art. Ordinarily that would be a good thing and I'd be quite pleased, but while researching Minimalism I read that it was a *reaction* to abstract impressionism! So I'm definitely OT if I go that way. By retaining the form of the trunk, I'm hoping that I'm just simplifying and reducing the idea of "pine tree" thereby staying within the boundaries. Maybe. Kinda.

Gday Phil nice shot, though I think for this challenge if you cropped in so only the tree trunk was in the shot it would add a bit of mystery.....sort of:-) Being able to see around the tree makes it just another tree trunk shot. Don't forget if you really like a shot as it is then don't change it. We have to please ourselves first. A very good effort mate.
