I have produced quite a few images where such a treatment would be beneficial. Perhaps I've been a minimalist all along without ever realizing it!

I think if you cloned out those buttons & darkend the black you would have a good minimalist shot. Or completely blacken from the top of the buttons down. Well done Phil.
