Gee, Dorys, I'm glad you didn't desaturate the picture leaving the blue eyes. That is one of my pet peeves in photography. IMHO it is so overdone and so cliche. I think this picture is much stronger in total B&W.

I'm sure she meant you Rod. Really...
I originally wanted to take a pic my hubby's face, desaturate it and just leave his crystal blue eyes in color. I figured that would be more appropriate for the "minimalist" challenge. But didn't know how to do it. Nugar was so kind to post a tutorial and that is where I found the eraser tool. Now I have to find time to try it.

Dorys, My wife reckons your husband is only the second most compassionate, sweetest person on the planet. She wouldnt tell me who was first:-) You're a lucky girl. PS. Why did you need the erasor tool?
ROFL!! Rod, Don, no offense... but if you had any idea of my husband's personality you would realize how ironic your comments are. I'm totally cracking up. He's one of the most compassionate, sweetest people on the planet. But I agree, there is a really eerie quality to this photo.
My original intention was to desaturate the image and just bring out his crystal blue eyes... but I have no clue how to do it easily. When I desaturated the image, his rough facial features came out and I really liked how it turned out.

Excellent image Dorys, what I like about it is it looks like a nice scary person. I didn't think a self portrait was apt for this challenge:-) Well done Ms Sosa Prentice.
