The Sweet Spot (*)

Music, a big part of my life. From jazz & acoustic blues & roots music to beautiful Mozart. I really should play some air guitar & get some exercise. (Yes, records do sound better than CDs):-)

This reminds me that I need more CD/DVD stashing space... And I need to backup too...

I like how you used a monochrome in this photo.. the different colors to the CD's and other background things might have been distracting.. very nicely done ~ jude

Thanks Lee & the loverly Melissa, Yes this is the shot I wasn't sure about as I thought it might come across as just a snapshot of the stereo. I think adding the deep red filter help it a lot. Now it has Melissa's seal of approval I really like it too:-)

Rod, Was this your bad picture that you were hesitant to post? Very well done and great mood and fits the challenge well. theFly

whoa rod, wonderful shot and it's a new one! congrats doesn't it feel good to take a new shot and do it so well. I can see why you never want to get out of your chair. I am so glad you have grown up and decided you can handle the "big" challenge. You should thank the guy that ran that 3D mini, he forced you to get out of your comfort zone.

Sorry I meant Techo:-)

Thanks Nugar Jim & Ann, I had this shot in B&W but it didn’t convey the emotion & joy I get from music. I then tried the photo filters in PS cs & the deep red warmed the shot enough to let me post it:-)

Perfect angle and what a great setup you have there. I have a bunch of cd's mostly stacked in the Sony 200 cd changer player, ranging from classical, classic rock to pop, the cases are tucked away somewhere. I'm a big fan of movie scores :-)

Rod, like Ann and you, I have always loved music - or at least listening to it. I have a sweet spot like yours - sometimes referred to as my cave. I will listen to almost anything, depending upon my mood.
Your photo captures this well. The composition is perfect for the thought. It incorporates a piece of you, but has a nice focus on the cd's and records. The B&W/sepia sets a nice mood.

I was trying to think of a way to express how much I love music but couldn't come up with a good idea. You did it. Congratulations. My music is almost all classical and involves active participation. (I sing in three choirs.) But the feeling is the same. There is nothing like music. I love photography, art and design, but music is the center of my soul. Thanks for sharing your love for music and reminding me about mine. Ann C
