Nugar--great man!!! Mary Anne and I will have to put our heads together to see if we can get it through our (I want to say, "thick heads," but I won't) on how to manage layers. Maybe, we can even have a contest to see who catches on first! (wink) Thanks again. Shu

PS: Mary Anne, I trust you, too, have a sense of humor in this regard. Let's make sure Nugar hasn't posted in vain in order to teach us layers!! When you catch on, let me know. Shu

Shu, Mary Anne, you asked for it, and here it is:

Step by step tutorial. It is not only step by step, but illustrated :o)

I hope it helps.

Very best regards,

Humberto (Nugar)

Mary Anne--Why can't they just do a SIMPLE step-by-step instruction for layers??
I can still follow along 1, 2, 3 ........ (I'm glad someone else has trouble with this, however.) Thanks, Shu

Shu, I thought I noticed an improvement even in the thumbnail. As for layers, I can't help you there. Even with two books (including "Digital Photography for Dummies") and Nugar's tutorial, I just haven't been able to figure out how to use layers. I've just about convinced myself that there's something defective with my Elements program. LOL

Mary Anne- I have brightened and upped the contrast. Since I'm in the process of understanding layers, I think there is a tool there that can accomplish the task, but I'm not familiar with it, as yet. I really appreciate your critique, since some things can be improved with the help of others with a critical eye. I hope everyone will feel free to criticize my images. I have already learned a lot from you guys due to your kind comments. Shu

I like the concept and the composition, but I think it needs to be brightened and then given more contrast.

I give a lot of credit to your companion if these crutches have to be used for the long term...my husband had to use them (fortunately, only for a short time) after foot surgery this summer, and just couldn't adjust to the lack of maneuverability.
