These are Chum Salmon swimming up a stream in Donkey Bay in SE Alaska. Salmon return to the streams where they were born to spawn. In doing so they die and are eaten by eagles and bears who carry the remains deep into the woods. (Yes, bears do s..t in the woods.) The remains of the salmon fertilize the woods and provide food for other animals. This cycle repeats itself. It is necessary for survival.
