Richard, I love this type of landscape. Rocks jutting out of beautiful green grass gives a nice contrast to the picture. It must have been a nice area to hike through. The sky goes well with the foreground. -atothev

Hi guys, thank you for your kind comments. I was lucky with the light and the time of day that we hiked through the pass, as this part of the pass is often in full shade. The light breaking accross the hillside definately helped emphasize the texture of the rocks and grass. I did apply very mild unsharp mask after the resize for the web, but I found that the texture of the shot broke up fairly quickly as sharpening was increased.
