St. Andrews Cathedral

Sydney, Australia

Post Processing: A slight skew was done to correct the perspective and make the columns not lean in so much. The image was cropped and then resized. The resizing did NOT maintain the aspect ratio so that the image would conform to the 1/2 topic ratio. There is a modest compression of the width. I think maintaining the aspect ratio would have left the image at 800x425. I resized it to 800x400. Levels, curves and USM were added before saving.

And if you're intereseted here's a link to the same photograph without the skew adjustment and with the aspect ratio maintained: http://www.pbase.com/image/30568520

Just thought you might like to know some of the tricks that can be used and that I think are perfectly legal. Of course, ultamately, the voters will decide that.

The picture is very good. It is interesting that the people don't look blurred.

Hand held? Well, no, not really. I didn't have a tripod with me and I used the next best thing. The camera was braced on the top of a pew for stability. The lens barrel (I have a lensmate adapter always attached to my G2) and the body of the camera gave me solid stable points of support.

It just begs the question: was this hand held?

pops, love the perspective here. it appears so orderly and inline. nice capture indoors especially considering the low light within a cathedral
