Although I'm sure if we start calculating it won't be a Fibonacci, something about this image reminds me of the golden mean and the diagonals...

1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 55 - sweet. And your palindromic binary string which has disappered had me puzzled for a while but now I understand "1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1"
