I took this photo in 1996 from the observation floor of the World Trade Center. The dark blob in the lower left corner is my foot. It still staggers my mind to think that this skyscraper of steel and concrete which gave such a transcendent view of New York City no longer exists.

The picture quality is not very good because the photo was taken with a cheap panoramic camera and scanned into the computer. Still, I thought it fit the topic and was interesting enough to share.
