Nugar, while I realise a lot of photos would benefit from fill-flash, I consciously don't use it for animal photography. I would rather have a slightly less than perfect photo of a docile animal, than a wonderfully exposed picture of a scared, angry creature.

Beautiful composition. The giraffe looks almost friendly. Re: *, I think this shot would benefit from a fill flash, exposing for the sky and using the flash for the giraffe.
