Hot stuff... well done, Andrew. Love the concept and the photo... since you have an asterisk, I'll say that the stray seed on the right is a bit distracting... and if you were ever to shoot this again, you might consider leaving some white spare around everything, including the ground chili in the foreground, so that the whole photo is isolated in its own space. Does that make sense? Who knows... I don't know it's a good shot. Don

Andrew, I really like this shot, the colors, lighting and concept are wonderful. This looks like a poster you might see in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Very creative! I hate chillies, but I love this shot.

Cool idea. The bright colors of the pepper and flakes really make this work. Ann C

Definitely a clever concept and execution. This is my favorite of the two. I also like your home-made soft-box, I'll have to make one for myself.

There's a picture of one mounted on a 550EX here . It's lined internally with white paper to diffuse the light, with aluminium foil on the sides to reduce light loss. A cotton cloth across the front provides further diffusion, making the overall output very uniform. Simple, cheap but effective :) Andy.

Clever idea. And I love the lighting. Can you say more about your softboxes? --Mary Anne
