Midland Light *

Near the Panama canal

Sometimes, there are structures that made you wonder why are there. This is one of those for me. I have always wondered why on Earth there's a navigation light right beside a road. Granted, the Panama Canal is less than a mile away, but why didn't they just build it on top of the hill? Out of the ordinary ;)

Now this is really out of the ordinary. Maybee someone's idea of a joke, or did they put the canal in the wrong place? Nice tree behind the lighthouse too. Neil
