Jelly (*)

Monterey Bay Aquarium, California

I like this because it was my first good indoor photo, and also the first time I used manual focus.

I remember this shot from before and it still knocks my socks off! I've seen these guys at the Monterey Aquarium and have tried with no success to take their pictures. You got a great one - perfect exposure and focus - and such a graceful pose. Great photo. Ann C

Thanks. I only had one shot at this, as the jellies are very mobile and share a crowded tank, so I wasn't able to bracket. Fortunately, the f/1.8 aperture provides a fairly bright view for MF. --Garrett

Garrett, the colors are incredible! A striking photo. When I use manual focus on my G3, I usually bracket like crazy and sometimes I still can't get the sharp focus I want. This is nicely done, especially for a moving object.--flowersand
