Empty Window *

Boston

This is in the kitchen of my son's apartment, which doesn't really look this dark. I just liked the interplay of light and shadow on the worn chair, as well as the gritty urban scenes through the window. I didn't brighten the photo because the dark tones created a mood and suggested...unanswered questions?? Or maybe I just like the picture because I was visiting with my son, who lives almost 100 miles away.

No, I haven't...it's a good suggestion. Mary Anne

I think I would have liked the chair better if it were facing the window. Then one might wonder who had been sitting there looking out, and why were they doing so. We'd think, "Were they comtemplating something? What?" Or, "Were they watching for a visitor to come then they got up to answer the door?". In this more common position, it doesn't make me wonder. BTW, have you tried it in B&W? ~ Lonnit
