Thanks for the compliment. I actually have cleaned up the shadows using PhotoshopCS unfortunately this was the best I could get without losing quality elsewhere. This shot was actually taken during the first month or so I had my 10D. I plan on heading back up to take some shots now that I have a bit more experience :).

I like the bold composition and juxtaposition of manmade and natural scenery. Would like to see more detail in the shadows on the water and vegetation. This might be one to work on with "digital blending," using multiple exposures, or else the Shadows/Highlights tool in Photoshop CS. I think it might also help to rotate this slightly counter-clockwise to get the roadbed parallel to the frame, though you don't want to make the water change direction and roll upstream ;-) Nice photo.
