The strong shadow in the background adds depth to the image. I also like the yellow glow.

Andreas: I had looked at doing it B&W, but I really liked the warm glow of the candle.

Pops: I also did shoot the picture centered and a little wider. I kept getting the flame trace out of the picture. Also, I cropped it off center to help hide a slight flaw in the composition. I hope you cannot tell. theFly

Gosh, Lee, I like this. The concept is cool and you've pulled it off well. I do wonder about the off center cropping though. Every time I look at this image I want to chop a bit off the left edge and center the light. And maybe a hair off the bottom as well.

I really like how you elaborated on a simple candle shot with the light tracing. Very nice. I have a feeling this shot would work well in B&W, as the only thing color does is give it the warm yellow cast.
