Spoons & Spatulas (*)

This caught my eye in our kitchen. I wanted to bring out the high contrast between the black kitchen utensils and the white background. The red spatulas are there for a hint of color. I'm just not sure if the white container gets lost against the background.

I do like this image a lot and you did a great job separating the container from the background. The idea and colours are great but I still feel this shot has an OOF feeling to it even after the sharpening. Maybe try re-shooting, f/5 like you've used should be enough to give the DOF you need.

Great shot - infants would like this shot - if you notice all early toys for babies have black, white and red as their primary colors - supposedly young eyes pick up on these colors. I guess that is why I like it!!!

Thanks for all of the comments. I've retouched the image to sharpen it a bit (not likely camera shake - I used a tripod) and to improve (I hope) the separation of the white container from the background. - WS

I like the starkness/colors/composition of this picture. I agree with ISO that there's some weird blurriness happening - it almost looks like camera shake or something around the utensils. Otherwise, nice job.

I actually really like this one. The basic colour palette does it for me. Those extra red bits, not too many, just give enough added interest and contrast fom the hard black and white. The seperation of the white container to the background could be slightly bettered, but it's not an easy subject! And a last point, something here looks ever so slightly out of focus. I think its the nearest implements. Or is just me? Anyone?

Nice use of color Will. This could be in a fancy magazine in an article about design in everyday things. I like the frame too. Ann C
